An unsolved murder mystery from decades before, a time when bloodshed and destruction was an everyday part of life. Nations were defeated, cities were devastated and history obliterated, while lives were destroyed and loyalties tested. It was a time of conflict and ruthlessness.
Thirty years on,investigative journalist and writer,Terry Hinchcliffe, sets out to investigate, re-opening old, almost forgotten wounds in a quest to put to rest his late father’s lifetime of sadness. It was just something he had to do.
The mystery is intricately patterned with interlocking issues of life-long friendship and hatred, loyalty and treachery, love and jealousy and with a final fatal error. Terry finds himself on an emotional tidal wave in his determination to find the truth about the mother he barely remembers.
But is he prepared for what the truth is?
